Congratulations to Assistant Principal John McCaughan on his recognition as the FCPS 2023 Region 5 Outstanding School-Based Leader at this year's FCPS Honors event, held at George Mason University Center for the Arts on June 14th.

John McCaughanJohn sees a miracle and purpose in all children. His mission is to help students grow positive relationships with others as they navigate the challenges and experiences of daily school life. By building those connections with one student, parent, and teacher at a time, John finds an opportunity for learning within each interaction. Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS), restorative justice, and partnerships with parents highlight the collaborative tools John uses to impact relationships. For example, his "spiraling strategy" efforts led the math department to post some of the highest achievement results in the division for Katherine Johnson's exceptional education students. John also has a joyful heart in guiding students to be their best version.

Congratulations to the following Katherine Johnson Middle School staff members who were also recognized at this year's FCPS Honors Ceremony!
