FCCLA (Family, Career and Community Leaders of America) members from Fairfax HS and Katherine Johnson MS (images 1-3) provided samples of their Very Berry Red Smoothie at five RISE Events during the first two weeks of August. A former member, Japanese Exchange Scholarship winner and now FCCLA alumni also returned to assist (image 4). The RISE community building activities focused on bringing new 7th and 8th graders for an introduction to their middle school. The smoothies were made by the members and served to the participants each day during the lunch block. FCCLA students, wearing the official red polo(image 5), were also available to answer questions about the chapter and STAR event competitions. Students and teachers (image 6) welcomed the tasty treat and unanimously agreed it was a super smoothie. Two members had some time for fun with our mascot (image 7). The FCCLA members were able to complete one unit in the Power of One National Program.  For additional information about FCCLA: https://fcclainc.org/about and https://virginiafccla.org/.
